HUGO LIVET
Born in 1988, Clermont-Ferrand, FR
Lives and works in Paris
His artistic manifestations mix natural forms and structures with artificial processes from which hybrid objects and images of deceptive appearance emerge. Livet’s works often present themselves as natural artefacts characterized by a wide range of forms and materials, constructed as scientific experiments with the difference of having no intention for proven results, but rather seeking to show and explore a new form or possibility of evolution.
Livet uses forgery to stimulate the viewers' intuition of reality, disturbing his or her expectations and perceptions. The artificiality he creates exposes itself without lies, tricking people but never for too long, triggering a brief moment when one begins to imagine a different possibility.
Livet participated in the Biennale de Lyon, Biennale de Saint-Flour and the 61st salon in Montrouge. His work has been internationally featured in Vogue, ELLE Decor and designboom. Livet’s works are now available in Bangkok and will soon be displayed at TARS Gallery.
