Ian Helwig is the world’s oldest living juvenile delinquent. He was born and raised at a dead end street in the suburban wasteland of New Jersey, just outside of New York. He grew up playing with matches, fireworks, spray paint and skateboarding. He went to art school for a year in New York, dropped out and joined the Navy. He was stationed in Japan for a few years before jumping ship and moving back to New York just in time for 9/11.

After years of painting on the streets of New York, he moved to Bangkok, a city reminiscent of NYC. His work is a meditation on recycling imagery and making the discarded new again.
